Minnesota’s beloved holiday tradition, returns to the State Theatre for its 59th year. Featuring the 44-piece Nutcracker Orchestra conducted by conductors Philip Brunelle and Steven Amundson, this classic holiday story comes to life through Loyce Houlton’s imaginative choreography set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score. Guest artist Dario Mejia will return to the production to portray Godfather Drosselmayer, who visits the Silberhaus family’s holiday party and conjures a transformative dream adventure for young Marie. With intricate costuming and dazzling performances from the MDT company and school, Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy creates magical memories for generations to share.
