MDT Company | 2018-19 Season

Elissa Fonseca was born and raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She received training with Utah Regional Ballet where she was an apprentice for three seasons. Elissa graduated with her BFA in Ballet from the University of Utah in 2014 and then danced with SALT Contemporary Dance for four seasons. Elissa has worked with renowned artists such as Summer Lee Rhatigan, Peter Chu, Gustavo Rameriez Sansano, Banning Bouldin, Alex Ketley, Gabrielle Lamb, among others. Elissa has enjoyed teaching ballet at many studios throughout Utah. This is Elissa’s first season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Carlie Clemmerson began training with Minnesota Dance Theatre at age four. Carlie spent two summers at San Francisco Ballet School on scholarship, participated as a trainee at the Paris Opera Ballet School summer session and with the Royal Danish Ballet. Carlie has performed principal roles in Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy, Knoxville, Summer of 1915, The Enchantment, Rumblings, Edifice Wrecks, An Arrangement, and Dispatches. She has also performed in works by Wynn Fricke, Helen Hatch and in Jose Limon’s The Moor’s Pavane. She holds the distinction of rising through the Nutcracker ranks from the littlest mouse, to Marie, to her debut as the Sugarplum Fairy in 2017. This is Carlie’s third season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Adrián Pastén was born in Stamford, Connecticut and started ballet at the age of 5 at the Connecticut Ballet. He went on to study at the School of American Ballet from 2005 to 2016, San Francisco Ballet School for the 2016-17 school year, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet School’s Professional Division for the 2017-18 season. He has attended summer programs at Boston Ballet School, Manhattan Youth Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, and Oregon Ballet Theatre. He has performed as Oberon in Balanchine’s Midsummer’s Night Dream, Dances Concertantes, Peter Martins’ Les Gentillomes, Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, and Jerome Robbins’s Fanfare. This is Adrián’s first season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Vanessa Spiteri was born in Zurich, Switzerland and received her early training at the Tanz Akademie Zurich. In 2006, she was a bronze medalist at the IDO World Tap Dance Championships. She completed her training at the Elmhurst School of Ballet in Birmingham, UK, where she was a trainee with the Birmingham Royal Ballet in her graduate year. In 2009, she joined the Ballet du Capitole in Toulouse under the direction of Nanette Glushak. Here, she performed a wide range of repertoire, including works by Nacho Duato, Jiˇrí Kylián, Inbal Pinto, and Jacopo Godani. This is Vanessa’s first season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Zion Rivera is from Miami, Florida. He studied at the Miami City Ballet School and Pacific Northwest Ballet School, and he attended summer courses at Boston Ballet School. While a student, Zion performed corps de ballet roles with Pacific Northwest Ballet in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Crystal Pite’s “Emergence,” and Kent Stowell’s Swan Lake. He originated roles in works by Guillaume Basso, Christopher D’Ariano, Miles Pertl, Matthew Renko, Amanda Morgan, and Kyle Davis for Pacific Northwest Ballet’s NEXT STEP and Annual School Performance. This is Zion’s first season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Will Bove began his dance training in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Tari’s School of Dance and continued training with Minnesota Dance Theatre during the 2012-13 season, dancing in The Enchantment and Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy. He returned to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University  (LSU), where he received a BA in digital advertising and a minor in dance. In Baton Rouge, Will was a member of both Of Moving Colors Productions (OMC) and the LSU Dance Ensemble and performed in various works with the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre. After graduating from LSU, he moved to San Francisco, where he was a trainee with Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Will’s choreography has been featured in various OMC productions, LSU’s 2016 Spring Dance Concert, and the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program Choreography Showcase. This is Will’s second season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Zachary Tuazon was born and raised in Tinley Park, Illinois. He received his initial training in ballet, modern, and jazz with Brenda Langan and Diane King. He has also received training from the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. He received his BA in Dance Pedagogy from Butler University where he performed works by Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Susan McGuire, Derek Reid, and Patrick Hinson. This is Zachary’s fourth season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Solana Temple was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and trained at the Tucson Regional Ballet and Ballet Arts. She danced for Ballet Tucson II and was a trainee for Ballet Tucson. She also trained with Boston Ballet, State Street Ballet, Ballet Austin, and received her BFA from The Juilliard School, where she was awarded The Martha Hill Prize. During her time at Juilliard, she performed works by Liam Scarlett, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, José Limón, Eliot Feld, Larry Keigwin, Emery LeCrone, and Darrell Grand Moultrie, among others. This is Solana’s fourth season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Sam Feipel studied dance at the Central Illinois Ballet and the School of Ballet Chicago before coming to Minnesota Dance Theatre in 2003. At MDT, he has danced more than 60 works in the repertory, with 35 of them as an original cast member. He has also been a guest artist for the Ketchikan Theatre Ballet of Alaska and in 2009 received McKnight Artist Fellowship for Dancers, funded by the McKnight Foundation and administered by The Southern Theater. This is Sam’s sixteenth season with Minnesota Dance Theatre.

Apprentices | 2018-19 Season

Kaitlyn Deyo started her training at Northland School of Dance and moved to MDT&S when she was ten years old. Her summer intensive studies have included the Kirov Academy, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Charlottesville Ballet, and Milwaukee Ballet. Kaitlyn has performed in work by Loyce and Lise Houlton and is part of the MDT apprentice program.
