In-Studio 6A Playhouse

A mystery reigns: twelve beautiful, obedient princesses awake each morning with energies and dancing shoes destroyed. The king is in a quandary. Is it a harmless enchantment? Or something bewitchingly dark and dangerous?

Based on the original fairy tale of the same name, The Enchantment: Twelve Dancing Princesses is a neoclassical story ballet that explores deeper themes that resonate in today’s world. Do we succumb to enchantment as a means of escape? When we pursue that which attracts or delights us, how far is too far? When does fascination cross the line into dangerous obsession?

Developed and choreographed by Lise Houlton, The Enchantment debuted in 2006, set to the music of Leoš Janáček under the musical direction of Tom Linker. This April, experience the magical production again, restaged for the intimate In-Studio 6A Playhouse. MDT is pleased to announce in addition to the 3:00 pm performance on Sunday, April 28, a 6:00 pm performance.
