Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy
Minnesota’s Longest Running Holiday Event Celebrates it’s Golden Half-Century
2014 marks the 50th anniversary of Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy performances in the Twin Cities, holding the distinction of the longest-running holiday arts event in Minnesota history! MDT announces its return to the Historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis with the 44 piece Nutcracker Orchestra led by Philip Brunelle!
Enchanting Audiences for 50 Years
The story begins at a Christmas party in 19th century Germany, and unfolds through the eyes of Marie. Her wizardly Godfather Drosselmayer weaves a magical fantasy, taking her on an extraordinary adventure to the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Experience the brilliant music of Tchaikovsky and the beautiful choreography of Loyce Houlton – one of Minnesota’s most treasured holiday experiences.
