Dear MDT Patrons,

Minnesota Dance Theatre has had one of the busiest winters on record. Fall repertory performances with four world premieres catapulted us into the 53rd production of Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy, immediately followed by Minnesota Orchestra’s “Tchaikovsky Marathon” in Winter Dreams, and finally our Carmina Burana.  All with our longtime relationships of stellar artistic colleagues: Bradley Greenwald, Osmo Vanska, Philip Brunelle, Tom Linker, Linh Kauffman, Justin Madel and so many more.

Here is what people are saying about the Nutcracker:

“… a production that capably defends dance as an art form that we humans will continue to need long after any device.” (Pioneer Press 12/16/17)

Here is what people are saying about Winter Dreams at Orchestra Hall:

“The most exciting aspect of this performance was the imaginative choreography from Lise Houlton throughout the symphony.” (TwinCities.com-Pioneer Press 1/2/18)

Here is what people are saying about Carmina:

“Carmina was phenomenal.”

“Most breathtaking piece I have seen in years.”

It is with excitement MDT announces a new path for our spring season in April. We are privileged to reside in one of the most beautiful studios in North America. Studio 6A is a playhouse for imagining, training, exploring, and creating, and we want to share it with our audience. Our Spring Season of performances will be presented in that beautiful, sacred, and intimate space: the Studio 6A Playhouse. We hope that you will join us.
